Iran's Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian stated that Tehran has proposed a seven-day plan aimed at restoring normal navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. The decision for the next steps lies with the United States. Amir-Abdollahian mentioned at the 52nd session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation that Iran has conveyed this proposal through Qatar. If the necessary conditions are met, Iran is prepared to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days to restore normal maritime passage. He emphasized that Iran is committed to ensuring the navigational safety of this strategic waterway and pointed out that disruptions to maritime traffic stem from military aggression by the U.S. and Israel, as well as U.S. restrictive measures. Amir-Abdollahian noted that maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz had returned to about 60% of pre-war levels within two weeks, but U.S. measures and military actions have hindered the implementation of relevant agreements.
