Former Ripple CTO warns of phishing alert targeting SecuX wallet

Former Ripple CTO David Schwartz alerted users about a phishing notification mimicking the SecuX wallet app. The suspicious alert claimed there was a security vulnerability in the wallet and urged users to enter their recovery phrase. It indicated that a critical vulnerability had been detected, putting user funds at risk, and included a link. Schwartz noted that tapping the alert opened the app normally, but later checks revealed the link directed to a phishing page asking for a 12- or 24-word recovery phrase. This phrase is crucial for restoring a wallet and accessing its assets. Schwartz emphasized that anyone who acquires this phrase can restore the wallet and deplete its funds, advising users to never enter or share it.
