Former Mt. Gox CEO Accuses Ledger of Mishandling Supply Chain Attack
Former Mt. Gox CEO Mark Karpelès has accused Ledger of failing to adequately warn customers about complex hardware implants after being aware of the related threats as early as March 2026. Karpelès stated that evidence of mass production and self-aligning implants should have triggered the highest level of alert response. Ledger CEO Pascal Gauthier responded by referencing his experience with Mt. Gox, to which Karpelès retorted that he had trusted Ledger to learn from its failures and do better than he did. Karpelès also criticized Ledger for downplaying the incident and questioned its communication with affected customers.
